VISITING THE CAPITAL or…super vikend v copenhagnu!
hehe, finally we made it! i know it’s quite a shame to live in one country for 3 months and visit the capital the last weekend of my stay, but oh well, now i can say only i wish we would go sooner. eventhough the weather was really…lets put it nicely: scandinavian, we had a lot of fun. our official purpose of goin there was actually purely political - to meet some “high seated” politicians (remember i’m a member of EU team in this active citizenship class). but it was an interesting experience and i must say, their parlament seems quite more vibrant, than their national charactristics may describe. aside that, we also visited another big sight: christiania. it’s an alternative place, something like metelkova city in ljubljana (those who visited ljubljana already, know what i’m talking about:)), except that it is a looot bigger and “developed”. later in the evening we cruised to some “not to danish” bars, clubs,… first one was a blues/jazz bar and our band (the one that we formed here 3 months ago:)) almost made it to first live performance on that evening jazz session. eventhough we never played anything sounding similar to jazz, we actually managed to persuade the organisor (quite easily by the way, probably cause we’re mostly chicks:)) that he puts us on the list of performars! but at the end i guess we figured out we’re not drunk enough
and so we decided to take a mercy on our teacher, who told us that most likely this will result in the end of his political career, if anybody sees him in our company.:)) so, see, you didn’t miss anything - there’s still a chance if you want to participate in our break through :))
on our way to hostel, we heared a great music coming out of one club, so we had to sneek in for a while as well. it turned out to be a nice cosy salsa club, and after a long time i had a chance to nock myself out with some dancing moves again…
in this pre-christmas spirit we couldn’t miss a christmas concert as well…actually we almost miss it…no, we managed to miss it:) …almost the whole one, cause we decided to walk, eventhough it was frickin far away. but we catch the spirit nontheless
next day we walked around a city a bit and visit those “must see” sights (like little murmade and such) and on our way back, we even manage to spot a celebrity. there was a big croud in front of a hotel and we decided to wait and see what’s goin on. after ten minutes of nothing happening, we became kinda unpatiend, so i asked some crazy middle aged fans: excuse me, can i ask, who are we waiting for? and they said: bruce springsteen. and me: oh, then, since we are in a first row already, maybe it’s worth to wait a bit.:) and voila! it was unexpected but interesting to be in the middle of all that fuzz…
on sunday we planed to visit malmo (sweden), but it was quite rainy and grey, so it was much better to go to some great museums and galleries. and they have quite a lot of them in copenhagen. and they are big! and interesting…eventhough i have to admit, that i took a “not-planned-nap” in the second one:)
of course i have to mention, that our experience in copenhagen would certainly not be the same, if we wouldn’t meet some really cool danes as well. after 3 months i had a chance to finally taste some reall (home-made) food and they certainly made me change my mind about their steriotypical characteristic of being cold and introvert. we had great time together and i hope to come back again! …but next time it will be in summer, for sure! :)
