MISKA, UUU ANOTHER MISKA…or cheers from belem!

most of you probably know, that brasilians have very good reastaurants, called per kilo, kilo or something like that. for those who don’t know what that is: you go there, take a plate and go around lots and lots of different food (selfservice), choose whatever you want and at the end you just put your plate on the balance and pay per weight not type of food. thats good, cause it makes all the food equally expensive, actually cheap, and you can try all sorts of different new things.

but another, even more interesting thing they have in belem is “all you can eat and drink” place. two of our friends, ricardo and elida introduced us to it. it happens only on wednesdays, so a lot of people come to this place, pay 20 reals (which is about 7euros), wait till 6.30 pm when everything starts and then… wiiii. lots and lots of different food, you just fill your plate and can go back as many times you want. but actually you don’t want to be too full, cause they also serve you drinks. it can be whatever you want, but usually people choose beer, cause they have their own brewery right there - and all 4 types of beer they make are pretty, pretty good. and its really really nice of them, that as soon as they see your glass is almost empty, they bring you another one. this way you don’t even have to get off of your chair :) officially this thing last till 9.30 pm, but you can stay as long as you want (you just pay normal price for the rest). for us it was like, before we knew it, we were in front of one church counting miskas (mouses) passing by and admiring supposingly the fancy “mango” street, where mangos fall on your car and ruins it. i actually don’t exactly remember if it is fancy for that particular reason…right now it sounds a bit odd… :)

anyways, when i was there, i certainly remembered of some slovenians (you know: nation of drunkers:)). i’m sure, if they would have a chance, they would be there all the time :)
