while staying in belem, we had several attempts to connect with this unique natural environment. one day we visited the first research centre of amazon. beautiful place! lots of animals, different species, interesting plants… later on we took a look on a very nice indian exhibition. here in amazon area, there are still a lot of native tribes hiding in the woods. some of them are pretty much adopted to western civilization world, others still live in their traditional ways, some are even believed to still endure canibalism practics! very interresting indeed…

over the beer debate we got another briliant idea: arvorism, or as we call it in slovenia, adrenalin park! since ricardo and elida have a friend, who owns the second biggest one in brazil, we just couldn’t miss the opportunity. it was a great experience: not only that we sweat our balls out on those “obstacles in the air” as they are, but for even more pure experience in the middle of the rainforest, we got rain shower as soon as we started. lots of it! :S and additionally we were caught by the night. you can imagine that we looked like bunch of monkeys on the trees. but was sooo much fun!!! …so, yes, marvelous experience indeed!

…so, after all i believe we got in touch with this unique ecosystem. :) now we were ready to face the real amazon!

here we are. after 5 days boat trip through amazon (and another delayed flight over night to brasilia) we safely arrived to our next destination - smal town (7.000 inhabitants) called alto pareiso. a lot of interesting things happend on the way and don’t worry, i’ll tell you all about it. :) we’ll spent couple of weeks here at marcelos moms place (beautiful house by the way), so i’ll have a lot of time to write, chat and abuse internet in all other possible ways.

but first things, first. with my last post i stayed in belem, right? i forgot to mentioned one tiny little detail about the north: people stared at me all the time! marcelo said that probably for the most of them this was the first time they saw white blond person around. sad, but true, supposingly they are not very used to other species. and obviously my tanning camouflage didn’t work very well. but wiii, finnaly somebody noticed me! really, brasilians are so mixed nation, they don’t even notice turists. so, not a lot of fame for being european for me here

anyways, at first milkey and i didn’t planed to stay in belem, we just wanted to get on the boat and continue with our traveling, but since city presented itself in a very nice way, we decided to stay a few days and adventures we had certainly deserve its own post! so, see you there…
