INVADING PORTUGAL…or does this castle look astonishing or what?!

One of the best things happening this last few days was leaving this shitty-weather london and landing in a beautiful WARM portugal. 23C at 10 p.m. - does this sound great or what? :) and to be even more pleasant, our host Alex lives in a coastal city of Cascais. so naturally, the beach presented itself in all its beauty already in the first night.

the next morning we decided to warm our bones and returned to the beach. eventhough the water was really, lets put it, “refreshing” (i would say about 17C), it was so nice to finnally jump in and feel the summer vibe again. wiiiii!

since portugal used to be one of the greatest imperies in the world we decided to connect with the history and build us a castle. A sand castle! It was astonishing, and obviously a group of soccer huligans noticed that also and destroyed by the end of the day:(

so we made a plan and today we cruised down to Sintra to check on some old portugese castles and search for new inspiration. Sintra is indeed a lovely city with its historical monuments and medieval roads. Like it or not, today I improved my hiking skills for sure! :). but it was worth it, cause i saw some wonderful natural parks and one of the most impressive castles ever - castelo dos mouros! and even the weather turned out good after a scary arrival (15C again?!?), when we thought we are back in london :S. But Alex explained that this is just another portugese speciality.
